Shade Hours
In midday heat, customers become witnesses and riders get pulled into shade.
The job
Catches every sign of a rider down, in heat distress or forced to work through the legal midday break. It gets a person to the rider fast, holds each logistics partner to the rules with evidence, and hands the regulator a ready compliance return.
The moment
Each day of the legal midday-break season is shown as a sundial with a heat strip. At 13:20 it reads 49°C when a customer review arrives: the rider who delivered at 1:15pm was drenched and could barely stand.
The automatic alert has already paged a supervisor, before anyone opened the app.
The welfare manager watches the case switch to "in shade", with the supervisor's WhatsApp reply quoted. Since 12:30, one logistics partner has 2 midday breaches and all others 0.
By September, that partner's midday orders above the 3-order cap have fallen from 41 in June to 3 in August, and the compliance return is one click from the regulator.
What it does
- Page the supervisor and send the rider a rest stop (rider-down, heat distress)
- Escalate to ambulance or emergency services
- Merge witnesses into one incident
- Open a 3PL compliance case
- Thank the witness
- Generate the midday-break compliance return
What you see
Summer almanac of sundials (one half-dial per day over the midday window) with a live heat strip, plus an end-of-summer 3PL ledger
What it moves
Midday orders above the cap for each logistics partner per week (target 0), the median minutes from a rider-down signal to the rider confirmed in shade, and fines avoided in dollars.
