Bill Front Forecast
Heat today, bill shock in three weeks: track the front before bills post.
The job
Forecasts when and where the summer wave of bill shock will land, from heat to higher use to the billing cycle, explains bills before they arrive, and uses a comparison group to prove how many complaints and how much contact-centre cost that avoided.
The moment
Summer heat raises energy use, and shocking bills follow weeks later. A weather-style map forecasts a 240% rise in "why is my bill double?" contacts in the north zone, where bills go out on 14 August.
Of the 18,000 accounts flagged, 16,200 get an explanation two days before the bill arrives. The CEO forwards the forecast voice note.
On 14 August the rise is 70% instead.
The 1,800 flagged accounts held back as a comparison group complained 3.1 times as often as those who got the explanation.
What it does
- Arm a front's explainer with a control group
- Offer payment plans above a threshold
- Send the bill-forecast voice note
- Log a front, cycle date or heat week
- Sign the summer ledger
What you see
Synoptic weather chart with moving bill fronts, a bill-cycle almanac, a treated-vs-control verdict card per front and a season-end ledger.
What it moves
Contacts asking why the bill is high per 1,000 flagged accounts, comparing customers who got an explanation with those who didn't, and dollars of contact-centre cost avoided each summer.
