Barge Load Line
Every team rides as a barge; when load sinks it below the line, lighten.
The job
Spots teams carrying the load that has come before resignations and sick leave, like queue pressure, abusive callers, overtime and lost rest days, measured only from events, never from how anyone sounds. Lightens the load and proves whether the team stayed and customers noticed.
The moment
Each of 22 teams is drawn as a barge that sits lower in the water as its load builds.
Team 7 has slipped below the line: nine days above 90% occupancy, 31 abusive callers, 14 hours of overtime each and rest days cut twice.
Last year, 7 of the 9 teams that sank this low lost two or more people within six weeks.
The director takes the complaints queue and overtime off Team 7, and the barge rises above the line on screen. A review of blocking abusive callers goes to legal.
At week eight Team 7 has lost nobody, while another low team that could not be lightened lost three.
What it does
- Lighten a team: pick levers and log a pre-registered action
- Preview the hull after dropping cargo
- Request a queue rotation, overtime cap, rest-day restore or protected breaks
- Send repeat abusers for a block review with evidence
- Notify the team lead and HR partner, with a note for the team
- Drill any straw to masked customer verbatims
What you see
A harbour map and wall, one barge per team riding lower as counted load builds against a painted load line, with drag-cargo-overboard previews; TV mode is read-only.
What it moves
Teams that sank below the line and were lightened that lost no one by week 8, compared with similar teams that were not, and staff exits avoided each quarter.
