Catches mentions of side effects from medicines in reviews, chats, calls and social posts, translates patients' wording into medical terms, and builds reports against the four minimum criteria. It tracks the regulator's deadline and flags new drug and reaction pairs honestly.
The moment
A patient's comment, "my lips swelled up after the new antibiotic", is translated from plain words into the medical term for lip swelling.
Two WhatsApp messages about the same generic antibiotic join it. That makes three case reports, each meeting all four minimum criteria, with 11 days left on the regulator's clock.
Reports linking that drug to that reaction have risen to 4 times their usual level, and were first seen here 9 days ago.
