Open Another Till
See the tills shoppers begged you to open, then staff them.
The job
Finds the hours and branches where queue anger peaks, compares them with the staff roster, and moves cashier hours to where customers said tills were missing. Success is checked by fewer queue complaints, and no cashier is ever named or scored.
The moment
Each branch is shown as a row of tills. Thursday 20:00 to 22:00 and payday weekends glow as "ghost" tills in 11 branches, where shoppers said too few were open.
Hovering over one shows the shoppers' own words, such as only 2 of 12 tills open and waiting 25 minutes with frozen food.
The roster manager moves three part-timers from Monday mornings to Thursday nights. The estimate is about 60 fewer queue complaints a month, somewhere between 30 and 90.
Five weeks later the result shows 52 fewer, inside the range, and that till goes quiet.
What it does
- Log a roster change with its estimate range
- Send the roster proposal to workforce management
- Send the front-end plan to the branch
What you see
A till-lane scene per branch with ghost tills, speaking complaint bubbles, a drag-to-roster what-if and a verdict log
What it moves
Queue complaints per branch per week at peak times, and the cashier hours moved to short-staffed times that led to a confirmed drop in complaints.
