Lab Notebook
Write the bet before the launch; the verdict unlocks only when earned.
The job
Turns every launch, release, price change or policy change into a bet recorded in advance, with limits, an earliest date to read the result and a verdict that can't be altered, deciding whether to keep or reverse it. Prices the contacts each decision saved.
The moment
Before each launch, the product manager writes down the expected result and the limits that would trigger a roll back.
On day two the product manager tries to peek. The result stays hidden until Thursday, with a reminder that a past price rise looked like 35% in week one but settled at 100%.
On Thursday the room types its guesses, the result appears, and it is stamped: a limit has been breached.
The product manager rolls the change back. A line below notes that when this product manager says 80% sure, they are right 52% of the time.
What it does
- Seal a notebook page
- Record a sealed guess
- Stamp the verdict
- Roll back / roll forward / extend
- Open verbatims
What you see
Lab-notebook pages with ink, wax stamps and a frosted magnitude panel, a ghost-overlay race, a reveal ceremony and a calibration strip
What it moves
The share of changes kept only after an earned verdict, contacts avoided by reversals priced per contact in US dollars, and how well authors' stated confidence matches how often they are right.
