Is It On?
Every fixture fans can't find, answered honestly before kickoff, even unheld ones.
The job
Stops the weekly flood of questions about whether a match is on the service or blacked out, by answering each fixture honestly in advance. Proves the flood shrinks, and gives the rights team a priced wishlist of wanted matches the service doesn't hold.
The moment
Each week's fixture list shows which matches fans keep asking about. On Thursday, a pre-season friendly the service does not hold the rights to lights up red, with 2,300 fans asking "is it on?".
One honest answer goes out. Saturday's next friendly stays grey, with questions down 82% on the last friendly.
The rights lead goes into the renewal meeting with a priced wishlist of the matches fans wanted.
Pre-season friendlies drew 11,400 questions this summer, and about 3,900 subscribers said they would pay: roughly $1.1 million a season at stake.
