Tap Colour Map
Paint each district the colour customers say their water is.
The job
Spots discoloured, smelly or low-pressure water by district from what customers say, hours before lab results. Separates harmless causes from real risk, triggers the agreed public-health protocol when needed, and closes each event with a verified advisory.
The moment
A wall map shows each district as a glass of water, coloured the way customers describe their tap water.
At 07:40 three glasses turn tea-brown. The note says the districts are downstream of a valve operation at 06:00, with 23 reports and no mention of illness.
Flushing crews go out, and an SMS explaining what is happening reaches the affected streets.
By noon the glasses clear one by one, each marked as iron sediment and safe. The advisory went out 38 minutes after the first report.
What it does
- Open or update a quality event
- Dispatch flushing crews / request a sampler
- Send a multilingual advisory
- Notify the public-health liaison
- Log the lab result
What you see
Map of tinted water glasses per district with etched verbatims, explain and fix lanes, a fade-to-clear timeline and a protocol log.
What it moves
Minutes from the first customer report to an advisory, against the agreed protocol target, and the hours taken to clear each discolouration event.
