First Days Growth Chart
Every new store, cohort or handover batch plotted on a paediatrician's growth chart.
The job
Compares anything new, like a store, intake group, handover batch or service centre, with every past one at the same age. It separates teething problems from lasting ones, triggers help the day a problem bites, and passes on a tested playbook.
The moment
Each new store is plotted like a baby on a paediatrician's growth chart, compared with every past store at the same age in days.
At week 3, a new superstore is among the lowest 10% of past stores on parking, while its praise for staff is in the top 10%. None of the 7 past stores this low recovered without a change.
On day 22 the regional manager adds overflow parking and a trolley marshal. By week 8 the store is back in the middle of the range.
At the day-90 review, the store manager receives a keepsake book of the store's first months. The parking fix is already in the playbook for the next opening.
