Counter Cards
Every fresh counter is a trading card that upgrades only on verified fixes.
The job
Gives every fresh counter a customer-feedback card to be proud of. Department heads borrow proven practices from better counters, a card upgrades only when a practice is verified, and the director sees what each copied practice saved in complaints and dollars.
The moment
Every fresh-food counter has a trading card built from what customers say about it. On Monday's staff-room TV, Butchery 41's card upgrades from silver to gold.
The upgrade came once its new practice, cutting meat in front of the customer, was verified: complaints fell 31% (likely between 22 and 39%), on a sample of 212.
A customer comment on the card reads "first time I've seen the butcher cut in front of me".
The practice has been copied by 14 butcheries and verified at 9, avoiding about 380 complaints and $46,000 of marked-down and wasted stock this quarter. The fresh food director takes it to the monthly review as the most-copied practice.
What it does
- Claim a move for my counter
- Send the move card to the department head
- Record a verdict
- Promote a move to a fresh standard
- Email the monthly transfer report
What you see
Football-style trading cards (stats, tier, flavour text, moves) in department binders, a monthly transfer window, and a staff-room TV reel of verified upgrades.
What it moves
Complaints about fresh counters per 1,000 counter mentions across the network, the number of practices verified at 3 or more counters, and the estimated dollars of complaints and markdown waste avoided each quarter.
