The job
Finds the cameras, zones and rules that draw far more objections per fine than others. Works out whether the cause is signs, calibration or misunderstanding, fixes it, and proves objections fell without more people breaking the rules.
The moment
A city map shows traffic cameras as pins. One ring-road camera produced 18% of all the city's objections to fines.
A drawing of the road as drivers see it shows complaints piling up in the last 400 m, where the limit drops with no warning.
The road safety team adds a sign giving 500 m of warning, and the drawing updates to show it in place.
Six weeks later, objections per 1,000 fines at that camera are down 80%, and violations there have fallen too. Its pin fades from red to grey.
