Politeness Trap
Catches courteous phrases that fool sentiment AI and translation alike.
The job
Prove the AI reads customer mood correctly, language by language, and stop polite or sarcastic phrasing from reaching English-reading executives as praise.
The moment
The board guesses stars for six translated quotes; God bless you, great effort gets a 5 from every member. The reveal: the original is a stock courtesy phrase and the customer gave one star, one of 1,100 one-star tickets the AI scored positive, 71% opening with that phrase. A month later the gap between AI mood and customers' own stars has halved, and the language lines on the chart converge.
What it does
- Relabel a misread ticket
- Add a phrase and tone note to the glossary
- Send the glossary to sentiment and translation owners
- Open a gap cell
What you see
A gallery of masks with a blind star-guessing round for the board: each polite phrase shown with its public face and its real face
What it moves
Gap between AI-positive share and customers' own 4-5 score share, in points per language, and misread quotes reaching the English board pack
